BioMMED Service
All BioMMED service functions are provided to LSU-based investigators on a charge back basis. Typically, LSU researchers are charged only the costs of supplies, while most of the personnel costs are provided via support of participating LSU units.

BioMMED is hosting a presentation/demonstration of the Thermo KingFisher. The KingFisher, an automated purification system for RNA and DNA, has been purchased for the Louisiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Lab (LADDL) and will be available for use by other SVM researchers as well.
The presentation/demonstration will be Wednesday, February 20, in Room 1212C of the Vet School. We will begin at 11am with pizza being provided for lunch. The demonstration will follow.

The camera of the Alpha Innotech FluorChem 8800 Imager housed in GeneLab has recently been losing sensitivity affecting both chemiluminescent applications and the viewing of traditional PCR gels. The camera has been replaced and the imaging software upgraded. With the addition of the camera and new software, the FluorChem 8800 is now a FluorChem HD2 unit.
