All BioMMED service functions are provided to LSU-based investigators on a charge back basis. Typically, LSU researchers are charged only the costs of supplies, while most of the personnel costs are provided via support of participating LSU units.

Representatives from Beckman Coulter will be in Room 1212C of the School of Veterinary Medicine on August 19 to discuss SNP Discovery and Typing, Microsatellite Analysis, and Gene Expression Profiling. These applications will be in relation to their instrument, the new CEQ 8800, but the topics may be useful in your research in general. The discussion begins at 10am and should last an hour.
In today’s laboratories, DNA Sequencing is not the only genetic analysis application performed regularly. DNA Fragment Analysis applications can also aid in unlocking the keys within the genomes. As part of the new GenomeLab family of solutions, the CEQ 8800 automates and integrates the majority of genetic analysis functions into one flexible, easy-to-use system that adapts to changes in sample type and complexity. Beckman Coulter understands that the genetic analysis processes would be easier if all applications could be performed in a single 96-well plate, with one software and one set of reagents. With the new CEQ 8800, all applications from DNA Sequencing to Gene Expression can be performed in a single 96-well plate.
